The Problem with Poetry
I never say I want to get back to that world for a reason
A few months ago I had the honor of reading at a poetry festival. Most writing and art conferences I participate in these days are multi-genre or fiction only. Since it’s been years now since my last poetry book was published, I tend not to be invited to those events so much.
Some people can never be told. They have to be shown.
This one was all poetry, all the time. Very cool. But I noticed a patten in many of the speeches, intros, panels, and conversations.
A majority mentioned at least once an argument that I feel is a waste of time.
